A session to explore how Autistic individuals experience sensory difference. We will learn about the characteristics and differences in sensory processing for autistic children and young people. We will then look at helpful, practical strategies to create sensory friendly environments for all children and young people not just autistic pupils
Learning Outcomes:
To understand what our senses are and how they affect us
To know that Autistic individuals will all experience sensory differences
To know that someone could be hyper or hypo sensitive to any or all of their senses
To be aware of some useful strategies when supporting children with sensory differences
Target Audience / Prerequisites:
Anyone that works with children
All places must be booked through the Practitioner Hub. If you attend training without having a place booked in your name then unfortunately you will not be recorded as attending and will not receive a certificate or evaluation. Please ensure that places are cancelled if you are unable to attend. If a booking needs to be updated as a different person from a setting will be attending, then support can be provided for this.
